The Great Wall (and a sick mama)
It was so cool!!! What a neat day! The Great Wall was built in 1404 BC I believe. WOW! It is one of the seven wonders of the world. It was built in only 25 years and is more than 4,000 miles long. It is the only man made thing that can be seen from space. Over 300,000 men built the Great Wall by hand. 150,000 of them were killed while building it. Today we took a ski lift up to the wall. Mom was doing good till we were up there and then things got iffy for her. Poor momma. She laid down in a little rest area while I walked around and took pictures. Then she took the ski lift down while I took the little alpine slide thingy. It was SO much fun. There is a video clip at the bottom of this post. Mom didn't fare so well on the ski lift. Apparently she barfed 3 times on the way down into the woods below. Ahhhh yes... barfing at the Great Wall... such a memory. Poor thing! After that she felt better. We went to lunch and it was DELICIOUS! WOW! I was so impressed. YUM! I ate the whole meal with chopsticks. I was very proud. :0) Mom had her first meal in 24 hours which was a popsicle and soup broth. BUT she kept it all down. WOOHOO! LOL! So after a stop or two we made the drive back and ordered in dinner. Well it is 6:20pm.. Way past my bed time. Hee hee hee... I am tired though so I am going to get ready for bed. Mom is on the upswing I think. She was able to eat some soup for dinner. Hopefully she will sleep well and be good as new tomorrow. In the morning we will go to Tieneman Square (did I spell that wrong?) Temple of Heaven and the forbidden city. Then we go to the airport and take a short flight to Hangzhou where Kaiya lives. Sunday is a free day and then we meet her Monday. HUGS! Angel
